Andrew J.
Andrew was able to survive the chaos that occured in 1863 and five years later began construction of the current farm house that stands today. The house was completed in 1869 and was four times the size of the original house. Andrew died on January 18, 1871 and willed the farm to his son, Andrew J. Weikert. In 1880 Andrew J. enlarged the barn, making it nearly 1/3 larger.
Mahlon
Andrew had five sons and five daughters, but none wanted to continue the farming tradition. According to oral family history, Andrew J. wished for the farm to be maintained by someone in the family, so he contacted Mahlon. Mahlon's Father Isaac and Andrew J. were first cousins. Mahlon's son Armour wished to buy the farm but was financially unable to make the purchase, so in 1908 a document of agreement was drawn up saying that Andrew J. would sell the farm to Mahlon. The promise of this agreement was realized on February 4, 1909 when the farm was deeded to Mahlon Weikert. Armour was able to buy the farm from Mahlon three years later on March 30, 1912.
Armour
During Armour's tenure, there were various improvements.
